Career
Early career
Winfield moved to New York City in 2000 after graduating from the University of Westminster, London. Capitalizing on the dotcom boom of the early 2000s, he began his career as a marketer at digital marketing agency SpiderFuel. As the dotcom era drew to a close and search engines like Google rose to prominence, Winfield shifted his focus to search engine optimization (SEO) and viral content, setting the stage for his later shift into publicity. In 2002, Chris parted ways with SpiderFuel and started his own specialist agency, 10e20. During his time leading 10e20, Chris headed viral marketing campaigns for major names like Disney, Intuit, Virgin, Conde Nast, NBC Universal, Viacom and others. This was the inspiration for Winfield to join forces with other leading NYC marketers to create BlueGlass Interactive, an SEO-focused agency, after a strong start BlueGlass ultimately collapsed in 2013.
Connection Experiment
The failure of the BlueGlass, Winfield decided to concentrate his efforts on improving his health and strengthening his personal and professional connections which inspired him to embark on an experiment in which he met with a new person every single day. The subjects of Winfield's meetings were originally Fortune 500 CEOs, billionaires, entrepreneurs, celebrities and other people of note, although he expanded his criteria as the experiment progressed. Winfield went on to seek out people from various backgrounds with interesting stories, such as homeless veterans and “riches-to-rags” executives who had lost everything after a career crisis. Meanwhile, Winfield and his closest friends had been meeting regularly for some time as a group called The Dad Mastermind.
Unfair Advantage Live
Unfair Advantage Live (“UAL”) was conceived as an opportunity for entrepreneurs to be ‘in the room’ with some of the most powerful media influencers in the U.S. Drawing on his by-now extensive network of contacts, Winfield aimed to bring aspiring entrepreneurs and influencers together, facilitate introductions, and coach business owners on building valuable media relationships. The inaugural UAL event was in July 2017.
Unfair Advantage Accelerator
Building on the success of Unfair Advantage Live, Winfield launched the Unfair Advantage Accelerator in 2018, also known as UAX.

Winfield is currently a contributor for INC. and co-hosted a show for Entrepreneur Magazine.
