Chris Couchois is an US-American singer, drummer and composer. Together with Steppenwolf guitarist Larry Byrom, bassist Howard Messer, guitarist Pat Couchois, he formed the rock band Ratchell and released two albums for Decca Records in 1971 and 1972.<ref name="morn720224"/> The second album reached #176 on the Billboard 200.<ref name="allmu7"/> A few years later, Couchois along with his brothers Pat and Mike Couchois, keyboardist Chas Carlson and bassist Howard Messer formed the pop rock/album-oriented rock-loaded band "Couchois", who enjoyed chart success (#170 on The Billboard 200) with their first album Couchois in 1979.<ref name="allmu6"/> The album also featured a guest appearance by Chuck Findley. In 1980 the group released their second and last album Nasty Hardware (distributed on Warner Bros.)<ref name="disco5"/> which included their song "Roll The Dice", which was later covered by such bands as Rage and Charlie.<ref name="allmu4"/> During the filming of the movie Comeback in 1981, he recorded drums for Eric Burdon's song "Heart Attack", which was written by Couchois and later featured on many of Burdon's compilations, such as The Best of Eric Burdon, Soldier of Fortune, as well as on the original album Power Company, which also featured Snuffy Walden, Ronnie Barron and Terry Wilson.<ref name="allmu3"/> Couchois' "Visibility Zero" is also featured on the 2006 compilation Munich Rock Disco.<ref name="allmu2"/> He currently plays with the "Couchois Brothers Band".<ref name="myspa1"/>
