Chip Yates

CHIP YATES (born February 11, 1971) is a professional motorcycle road racer (AMA #89) competing in the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) Daytona SportBike class for the 2009 championship season. Chip lives in Orange County, California and married wife Julie Yates in 1997.
Chip is also a licensed professional racecar driver. He and wife Julie raced in the SCCA Pro Rally Series from 1999 to 2002, and the two won the 2001 SOPAC Group 5 rally championship in a Supercharged Toyota MR2 rallycar.
Chip holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters Degree in Business from the University of Southern California.
Racing Career Highlights
2009 - Receives AMA Professional Roadracing License and is hired to race in the AMA pro series.
2008 - 4th place in the WERA West Expert Roadracing Championship (1,000cc class) on a 600cc machine.
2007 - 4th place in the WERA West Novice Roadracing Championship (1,000cc class) on a 750cc machine.
2007 - First experience riding a motorcycle on a racetrack (January, 2007 at California Speedway).
2001 - SCCA Pro Rally Group 5 SOPAC Champion (with wife Julie).
