Childs Hall

Childs is one of the largest halls at the University of Reading, and was named after the first Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor W. M. Childs. It provides fully-catered accommodation in single study bedrooms for over 500 students. The Hall was founded in 1966, and was extended in 1972
Location
The hall is situated on the Whiteknights Campus, on Upper Redlands Road and next to Foxhill House on one side and Windsor Hall and Whiteknights Hall on the other side.

JCR Committee
The JCR (Junior Common Room) committee is the elected group of students who organise events for the residents and provide welfare support and sports and social facilities.

Wardens
All hall's at the University of Reading have a warden (also known as Senior Academic Tutor) and Christopher Hardman is the current warden of Childs Hall.
Hall Closure
The University have announced that Childs Hall is shortly to be closed once the building of new halls has been completed
