Chief Stockton (born December 15, 1986) is a half Native American-Caucasian producer and recording artist. He originally started off in a four-person hip hop group titled GPD, later diverging to a two-person group called Black N Mild; Chief Stockton was the "mild" of the group. In Black N Mild, Chief Stockton was then known as Big Chief. After appearing across Myspace, Facebook, and YouTube, much interest has occurred over Chief Stockton including "leaking" of many of his releases, including remixes which he likes to send out at least twice a week. Chief Stockton is currently working on a mixtape titled "Music is...My Relationship" in which the mixtape will host as a prelude to his upcoming LP titled It's A Rollercoaster, which is a project still looking for distribution. Early life Chief Stockton was born on December 15, 1986, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Even though he has always loved hip hop, he did not start producing and recording until the winter of 2005, on his 18th birthday when he received some production software and recording software as a gift. While at that time he was still finishing up his senior year in high school and working part-time at a local T.J. Maxx, he and some of his co-workers would freestyle in the breakroom. It was then that LoanStar, Yung D, Gee Reed, and Chief formed the group "GPD", which meant Greenwood Perry District. They ended up finishing up a CD with most production done by Chief Stockton and then proceeded with a mixtape before the group split up. Black N Mild After splitting up with "GPD", Chief Stockton and Gee Reed formed a two-person group which initially launched Chief's career. After forming the group in later 2006, when MySpace was still new and just gaining popularity, Chief set up a page, after networking and receiving a lot of great feedback from new fans all across the globe, Black N Mild became a hit on the underground circuit, and after Chief Stockton networked with fellow artist Jack Hustle from Atlanta, Jack informed the two that he is opening up for Lil Jon on Spring Break in Panama City Beach in 2007 and wants them to join the show. For their first concert ever, they were opening up for one of the most popular recording artist at the time. After breaking nervous feelings they got on stage and rocked the crowd, even proving to local radio station The Island 106 that they should not be considered rookies. After gaining a buzz down there, it was time to return to Indianapolis and start a buzz locally. While gaining shows at Slamology a music and car festival and shows down at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. All at the time their Myspace was blowing up, gaining thousands of friends and views and plays. Then in November 2008 while asked by one of the founders of Ourstage.com to participate in a T-Pain contest they were hosting. The song was called, "Everybody Else" and as soon as they sent it out, it became severely leaked, to everywhere from top sites such as Hotnewhiphop and hear-it-first.net and even though they lost the contest to Twank Star everyone thought the song was supposed to feature Black N Mild and Black N Mild only, and ever since that moment, the internet has fueled to see what Black N Mild and Chief Stockton was up to next. Leaking everything from videos they were filming to new songs and even had numerous sites leaking their mixtape two weeks before it was released. The last project Black N Mild worked on was a free downloadable mixtape hosted by DJ REDNESS out of Tampa Bay. The Mixtape was called, "The Variety Show: Season One" which originally was a collection of songs that did not make it on their debut CD titled "Phreaked" In the spring of 2009 about a month after "The Variety Show: Season One" leaked, Black N Mild halted everything due to life situations. In December 2010 Chief Stockton donated $200+ to http://DropThatTrack.com supporting the hip-hop community. Thanks a lot Chief! With the new solo outing, what was once known as Big Chief soon turned to Chief Stockton and with over 65,000 fans on Myspace and over 7 million plays and views, Chief Stockton continued producing and recording every chance he could get.
