Chendooram is a red color powder. It is crystalline in shape, generally made of metallic compounds. It is used in Siddha, Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathic and Allopathy medicines and remedies.
History
The powder has been widely used in India, Persia, Greek and Arabian countries since the 2nd century.
Scientists such as Paracelsus, Claudius, Hermes, Trismegistis and Basin Valentine are attributed to researching and using the powder during the Ancient era. Paracelsus wrote "The Chemical pathway", Claudius wrote "The Hermetic and Alchemical figures" and Basin Valentine wrote "Triumphant Chariot of Antimony", where they describe and explain what Chendooram is. In India, Saint Bogar, Agithiyar and Kongannar were using Chendooram as part of their Alchemy to cure diseases.
Nowadays in Allopathy medical system, we see medicinal combinations like "Red oxide of Iron", "Red oxide of Mercury" etc., these chemical compositions were taken from Chendooram.
Formation
Mercury is used in the form of rasa chendooram (red oxide of mercury). Qualitative identification of phytochemical constituents, metallic quantification and in terms of pharmacognostical standardization. Chendooram is the finest particle of Basanam (Metals). It can be from Rasam (Mercury), Gandagam (Sulphur), Veeram (Bichloride of mercury), Pooram (Perchloride of mercury), Lingam (chinnabar) Manochelai, Thirusu (copper sulphate), Thutiam, etc., These are normally poisons but by removing toxins in these metal these could be used for medicines.
