USC Longevity Institute

The USC Longevity Institute unites multidisciplinary aging research approaches in order to maximize the healthy life span. The LI is part of the USC Davis School of Gerontology. It is run by director Valter Longo and associate directors Lucio Comai and John Tower and consists of four units: Aging and Regeneration; Aging and Bioengineering; Aging, Diet and Exercise; and Aging and Pharmacology.
An interdisciplinary effort, the USC Longevity Institute unites experts from USC School of Pharmacy, Keck School of Medicine of USC, USC Davis School of Gerontology, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, Broad Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research, Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute, Viterbi School of Engineering, Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Grouped into the areas of expertise of neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, psychological disorders and normal aging, faculty members involved with the Institute span USC's elite researchers, including Pinchas Cohen and Sean Curran.
