Charles Szews

Charles L. Szews (born in 1956) is the Chief Executive Officer of Oshkosh Corporation. He is married to Rochelle A. Szews. Szews is pronounced Schevs.

Charles, also known as Charlie, was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Oshkosh Corporation on January 1, 2011. Prior to that, he was company President (a position he held between October 1, 2007 and August 1, 2012). Other key executive positions Szews has held at the firm include: Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He has been instrumental in new business development, Mergers and acquisitions, supply chain and global manufacturing operation functions, and long-term strategic initiatives at the firm.
According to Dick Donnelly, Chairman of the Board and Director of the Corporation, Charles “has been an integral part of the company’s success.
Charles has been with the firm since 1996.
Other corporate activities
Before joining the Oshkosh Corporation, Charles held key positions in other firms. For example: Vice President and Controller of Fort Howard Corporation, Interim President at JLG Industries, Inc., and a decade of audit work for Ernst & Young. In addition, in May 2007, he was elected director of Gardner Denver Inc. until it was sold in the beginning of 2013. At that point he became Chairman of the Audit Committee as well as a member of the Nominating and Governance Committee.
Education
Mr. Szews graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a B.B.A. in Comprehensive Public Accounting. In 1980, he received his certified public accountant certification.
