CharityKick is a crowd funding company. It allows users to nominate any person for a challenge or "dare": When endorsed by a charity, a dare can accumulate donations, which are released to that charity only if the dare is completed. Nominated persons will be familiar (e.g. employees using the site to dare their boss) or celebrities. One example of fundraising is a dare for Russell Brand to shave his head for a medical research charity.
Other similar sites include Justgiving, MakeADare, and Raise5. Charitykick's emphasis is on leveraging the power of the crowds to compel nominees to act on dares. Charitykick states "To keep in tune the fun and friendly nature of this venture, dares that are lewd or questionable in nature can and will be removed at anytime to protect the nature of charitable donations.".<ref name=charitykickhow/>
