Character Nine is an American rock band with roots in New York City, Boston, MA and Berkshire County. Character Nine is based in New York City and tours extensively in the northeast. Character Nine draws influence from a diverse set of artists, including the late Jeff Buckley, Aimee Mann, and rock acts King's X and Richie Kotzen, among others. They often combine groove-based, edgy riffs with melodic vocals and harmonies. In July 2007, Character Nine independently released their debut EP, In January 2009, the band released a free single, entitled "The Man You Made," for download on its official website.
