Chalk to win

Chalking has been a traditional tactic in cue sports for the last century, however it has rarely been attributed directly to winning. However, recent and conclusive studies have shown that chalking is directly proportional to winning . This phenomenon was first discovered by Dr. M. Lee (unconfirmed doctorate) et al. in 2009 and has since been confirmed by multiple competition-orientated studies . The studies have since been expanded from their original studies which looked exclusively at pool, and are now being focused on other cue sports. It is believed that the results of the study could revolutionise the world of both pool and snooker.
The renowned Dr M. Lee (unconfirmed doctorate) is now undertaking further studies in the art of "smacking it" and at a recent conference divulged that his results were "looking promising, although further studies are required"
So What does 'Chalk to Win mean?
Chalk to win is a method of playing pool and other cue sports, taking the pressure of each shot off of the player and placing it solely on the chalking of the cue. By doing this, the player can then say 'i was bound to miss it, i didn't chalk the cue properly' or if they pot it, can revel in the glory of getting one ball closer to victory.
Although this may not be the best method for top players, on a basic level, this method gives the unwarranted confidence boost required to make even the worst pool player a dangerous threat in the game of pool at the local pub. Try it, it works for several subjects in the studies by Lee et al (2009)
