Cecil Hammond (Born April 8 1976) is a Nigerian Music/Entertainment Promoter. He is the CEO of Flytime Promotions and founder of Flytime Music Festival and Rhythm Unplugged. Born and raised in Lagos, Cecil began his career in Entertainment at Silverbird as a Program Manager before diverging into the Music industry. With over a decade of spent in creating concerts and unveiling artists, Hammond is currently considered to be an influencer in the Nigerian Entertainment industry.. Early life and education Hammond was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria where he attended International School in 1986. He majored in Computer and Information Science, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from the Valdosta State University Georgia in 1996. He then decided to further his studies in Business Economics at the University of Leicester in 1997 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. In 2002, Hammond’s love for ambition steered him to enrol at Le Cordon Bleu- the leading culinary arts, wine and management school in London, United kingdom. It was during his work at Silverbird Television that Hammond initiated the idea of creating a music concert in Lagos. Carrier Hammond is currently the CEO of Flytime Promotions which he started in 2004 with a break out concert tagged Rhythm Unplugged. It is one of the longest running concerts in Nigeria and also known to host some of the biggest artists, while continuing to unveil new and exposing old artists in Nigeria to larger audiences. Thirteen years later, the Rhythm Unplugged concert evolved into a multi-day music festival called Flytime Music Festival. Earlier on in his career, Hammond launched, Flytime Music Label which commenced with signing break out Music Artists Tiwa Savage, Davido and Seyi Shay Hammond initiated an online Channel called Flytime TV on YouTube which was later accredited by the popular online Video Blogging Website in June of 2011 and gained popularity with its innovative show "3LiveChicks" which was hosted by Oreka Godis (formerly with The Beat 99.9), Toke Makinwa (OAP with Rhythm 93.7) and Tosyn Bucknor. Personal life Hammond is married to Keke Hammond. They met while working at Silverbird television in both radio and TV media. She worked as a radio presenter before breaking out as a producer with the Nigerian adaptation of the stage play by Tyler Perry; tilted For-Colored Girls. Cecil and Keke have three children
