CC Martini, real name Caitlin Whitty (born September 7, 1979), is an Australian songwriter/performer. Born in Melbourne, Australia, she grew up in the small town of Finley, New South Wales. She is the daughter of Peter and Jennifer Whitty and is the eldest of four siblings: Jacob, Megan and Thomas.
She was briefly a boarder at Melbourne Girls Grammar School, and went overseas to Oregon, USA as an exchange student. After finishing her High School Certifcate she moved back to Melbourne and completed a Bachelor of Multimedia/Media Studies Degree.
Whitty started using the name CC Martini when she was working abroad in Dublin in 2001, and started songwriting. CC would write her early rhymes while working on the door of a nightclub. When she returned from overseas Martini set about getting a demo together with producer Kent Morris and singer Tiffany Kommedal and began performing around Melbourne.
In December 2004, Martini was discovered at a Christmas party gig at the Prince of Wales by Shock Records. In early 2005 CC Martini signed a pressing and distribution deal to release a 5 track EP through Shock Records. She then signed with a new Shock Records sub-label called Public Opinion in early 2006. In late 2007 CC Martini's debut single "Champagne Taste" peaked at number 68 on the ARIA Singles Chart and 25 on the ARIA Physical Singles Chart. It also spent two weeks at number one on the AIR 100% Independent Singles chart. She has made a video with director Duke Dinh for the first single "Champagne Taste". "Double Dutch" is to be the album's second single. The Champagne Taste album will be released in Australia mid 2008.
