Cask Thomson

Cask Thomson is a Singer/Songwriter and renowned Guitarist from Falkirk, UK and currently resides in Sydney Australia. He is actively involved with the outreaches and youth services that Hillsong Church are part of. He is a vocalist at Hillsong in Sydney and is currently working on his second album
The Sleepy Dusk E.P & Self-titled Debut 2009
Having released the E.P The Sleepy Dusk in 2009 digitally, the E.P reached Number 22 in the Australian iTunes charts, With the title track "Sleepy Dusk" reaching number 35. The track reached number 17 on the Australian Independent Records (AIR) Charts.
Cask worked alongside producers Jeff Cripps and Mike Hedges on the full length self titled debut album which was released in January 2010.
The album contained new mixes and edits of "Leaving" and "In Love With the Victim" which both featured on the Sleepy Dusk E.P.
On 12 January 2010 the self-titled album began a live-stream and pre-release on Myspace.
Death of a Hero 2010/2011
Cask Thomson mentioned in an interview that he would be releasing a new album in late 2010 or early 2011 that would sound different from the electro pop genre that was branded with his self titled release. Quoting:

Without giving too much away, I don’t want to dive into a second album just yet considering my debut only came out really, but God has given me so much creativity, When I think of another release I think of more string quartet, Banjo’s, Mandolins and a sitar. Enough said? (laughs)

In April 2010, Cask Thomson announced through his official Facebook fan page that new music would be arriving soon and that Facebook fans would gain access to the content exclusively. This was later confirmed on his official website after a new design of the site and promotional photos were uploaded.
In Early June 2010, the status "Are you a convicted sinner?" was added to Cask Thomson's official facebook page following an image of 3 billboard posters with the same text and a picture of Cask Thomson[http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/photo.php?pid4124637&id241589427163 see here]. Shortly afterward Cask confirmed via Twitter that the new album would be titled Convicted Sinner.
Shortly after, Cask Thomson confirmed through the social networking service that the album would no longer be named this due to the following statement "The album will not be called Convicted Sinner more info soon"
On June 10, 2010, Cask Thomson premiered his new single "Maybe one Day" on Myspace for free download. The track received 710,000 plays in the space of 15 hours. According to www.caskthomson.com the album will be titled Death of a Hero and will be released at some time in 2010 or early 2011.
According to Cask Thomson and Co-Writer "Dan-O" The album is a complete change in direction and "Sounds like a modern contemporary rock album as opposed to my former electro influence.". The album has had many delays and is expected to be released in 2011. The first track released was "Maybe One Day" with a video scheduled to be filmed in the near future

Work as a Producer
Cask Thomson has co-produced his own albums alongside Jeff Cripps and Mike Hedges (Selftitled Album)
He has also begun work with Australian band New Empire and it has been rumored that he will be producing the new Ivoryline album in 2011
He is said to be organizing a charity single for CompassionArt which will feature Himself, Hillsong's Scott Ligertwood and contemporary vocalist Kari Jobe on vocals
Personal life
As described on an interview with online independent radio Radar Radio. Cask Thomson is a qualified computer scientist & engineer. He is currently writing a student guidebook dedicated to advanced computer science & engineering.
Cask Thomson was born in Falkirk, Scotland and speaks Scottish Gaelic as a secondary language to English. He moved to Australia in the mid 2000's and currently resides in Sydney.
According to an interview with Eternity magazine, Cask Thomson was diagnosed with Bi Polar and Aspergers syndrome as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder.
