Carol Dela Cerna

Carol de la Cerna (born December 16, 1993) is a Filipino-Canadian badminton player for the Seneca Sting in Toronto, Ontario. Standing at 5' 4", Dela Cerna has played for her alma mater, Seneca College. She has won rookie of the year award and other prestigious awards. She previously played tennis and has a repertoire of badminton skills.
In only her second year, Dela Cerna led the Seneca badminton team to a regional woman's title, double gold at provincials, and a bronze at the national championship. Despite being one of the youngest on the team, Carol earned the respect of all her peers by exhibiting outstanding leadership and technical skills. Her unparalleled desire to improve and unique personality brought out the best in both her teammates and coaches. Carol was an inspirational mentor, role model, and superstar to all of Seneca Sting badminton.
Seneca’s impressive varsity skills were also on display at the 2012 OCAA Badminton Championships, which were hosted at Redeemer University College in Hamilton. Sanjay Ashokkumar and Patricia Lau won gold in the mixed doubles results, while their teammates Li-Ju Chen and Carol Dela Cerna won silver in the women's doubles competition.
Carol Dela Cerna took home the bronze medal at the 2013 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Badminton National Championships.
Dela Cerna now studies in Griffith University Queensland Australia to pursue her career in aviation management.
Early years
Born and raised in Malaybalay Bukidnon Philippines to parents Dean Medardo Y de la Cerna and Redempta Tubeo. Her family emigrated to Canada on 2002.She has an older sister named Dana and a younger brother named Yule. She is the middle child of the three siblings. This filipina beau is a "Crush ng bayan". She is pretty laid back and down to earth.
