Candy Warhol

Candy Warhol also known as Evin Dennehy is a drag queen, visual artist and journalist from Ireland. Candy Warhol represented Limerick in the 2011 Alternative Miss Ireland where she won Best Stunt.
In October 2011 Candy Warhol will be a finalist in Alternative Miss London.
Evin Dennehy
Evin Dennehy was born on September 20 in Cork in Ireland where he lived for eighteen years. He has cited The Wizard Of Oz and Fairytales as his biggest influences and had a strong interest in fine art , fashion and music. He moved to Limerick to study Fashion at the Limerick School of Art and Design and ended up studying Combined Media after feeling restricted by the original fashion course. It was in this course that Dennehy began to produce different artworks and lay the groundwork for his alter ego Candy Warhol.
Candy Warhol
Candy Warhol was originally created after Dennehy first saw the Alternative Miss Ireland on television in 2007 and was attracted to the bizarre characters he saw. Originally entered into Alternative Miss Cork in 2009 , the show was cancelled for the first time in its run and Warhol's debut would not be seen until September 2011 where she headlined a show in Limerick. Created as a platform for live performances, Candy Warhol is also the inspiration for fashion pieces, artworks and music.In March 2011 Candy Warhol was invited to participate in Alternative Miss Ireland where she won an award for Best Stunt after exploding on stage and being thrown into the photographer pit to shock from the audience and crew. Warhol was then interviewed and featured in The Irish Examiner. In mid 2011 she began hosting and performing at various club nights across Ireland including Dolans in Limerick and The George in Dublin. Warhol is currently based in Belfast where she is performing. In October 2011 Candy Warhol will participate in Alternative Miss London as well as more dates in the UK.
Gutter Candy
In May 2010 Evin Dennehy created Gutter Candy a pop culture website where he blogs and interviews different celebrities and artists including Taryn Manning , Lisa D'Amato , Gina G and different contestants from shows like RuPaul's Drag Race , America's Next Top Model and The Apprentice. In early 2011 it began to be noticed by different media and this led to Dennehy presenting various fashion pieces for RTE as well as being nominated for 'Best Personal Blog' at the 2011 Irish Blog Awards. In September 2011 Gutter Candy Events was created in order to cater for the specific readers of the blog and create the type of events they might enjoy such as fashion shows, club nights and drag shows. Le Disko Bloodbath and CandyLand were the most successful of these and both were hosted by Candy Warhol who is due to host more in Autumn 2011. An online store and magazine are planned for late Autumn 2011.
