Canada-Marshall Islands relations refer to diplomatic relations between Canada and the Marshall Islands. Diplomatic relations were established on August 14, 1997. In the Marshall Islands, Canada is represented by the Canadian High Commission in Australia. The Marshall Islands is represented in Canada by an embassy in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. Canada enjoys a warm and positive relationship with the Marshall Islands, an associated state of the United States. Bilateral relations are cordial and enhanced by a shared membership in international organisations such as the United Nations, the Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization. Canada and the Marshall Islands share interests with respect to fisheries and climate change and are both party to the United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement and the Kyoto Protocol. Canada is also a Dialogue Partner of the Pacific Islands Forum to which the Marshall Islands belongs. With regard to development assistance, Canada supports community-based projects in the Marshall Islands through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives administered by the Canadian High Commission in Australia. The country is also eligible for multilateral programs and others managed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Canada's trade relations with the Marshall Islands are managed by the Trade Commissioner Service at the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines.
