Camp Happiness was the unofficial, but very popular name given to the missile support facilities operated by Detachment 2, 4504th Support Squadron, 4504th Missile Training Wing, 9th Air Force, TAC, at Cape Canaveral. The headquarters section included billets and mess facilities used to support launch training for the TM-61C Matador tactical missile, and later the TM-76B (CGM-13B) Mace missiles. The facility was open from the middle fifties until 1963. The facility, located directly on the south shore of the Canaveral Channel, has been demolished and the site is today run by Brevard County Parks and Recreation.
