Caesary is a browser-based multiplayer online game with graphic elements reminiscent of Civilization. The game is set in the post-Republican phase of the ancient Roman civilization, characterized by an autocratic form of government and large territorial holdings in Europe and around the Mediterranean, where a player is to establish a city and begin developing various technology and building supporting structures to generate armies and resources for the purpose of attacking other players and in game opponents. The game is licensed to a number of publishers, including Aeria Games, Caesary.net, Kongregate, Lekool, Reality Squared Games, TopMy, YooGames and 337.com. Gameplay Caesary is set in a persistent world-when a player logs out, the game continues. A new player is given "newb protection" which prevents other players from attacking their cities. This gives new players the opportunity to get accustomed to the game before the challenges begin to surface. A player begins by acting as consul of a single city. The player gives instructions on production and construction with the initial resources. The resources in the game are Sesterces (Coin), Crops, Lumber, Stone, and Iron, and the city's population. MMOHut also noted the excessive prices of some of the items found in Caesary's item mall and that one could essentially buy one's way through the game.
