Dr. C. R. Karisiddappa (born in Chitradurga District, August 2, 1947) is a librarian who serves as a Director & Professor, Academic Staff College, Karnatak University, Dharwad. Academic credits He obtained B.Sc., (Mysore University, 1969), B.Lib.Sc (Karnatak University, 1970), M.Lib.Sc. (Banaras Hindu University, 1972) and Ph.D. (Gulbarga University, 1983). He served as the Librarian, JJM Medical College, Davangere and joined the Department of Library and Information Science, Karnatak University, Dharwad in 1972 as Tutor. He was promoted to Lecturer in 1976 and to Reader in 1984, then to professor in 1994. Positions held He headed the University Library, Karnatak University (2001-2004). He also helped to complete the design for the UGC Model Curriculum of Library and Information Science Programmes. He was given the "Motiwale Best National Teacher Award" for the year 2000 by the Indian Association of Teacher’s of Library and Information Science (IATLIS), of which he served as president (2005-2008). He was also President of the Indian Library Association, (2002-2004).
