Israel Martinez is President & CEO of Athens Consulting Group (ACG, Inc.), an award winning technology solutions firm based in Dallas, Texas, specializing in VLDB integration and cyber secu-rity. ACG clients include; the Department of Defense, Defense Information Systems Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the State of Texas District Attorney’s office and Fortune 100 private sector clients. ACG, Inc. is a distinguished federally certified 8(a) company with members who chair the Cyber Warfare Committee for the Medical Banking Project in Washington, D.C., consult with the Department of Homeland Security and service partners that include IBM, Bearing Point, Northrop Grumman, Perot Systems and Golden Gate Software. ACG is a vetted contractor in several contract vehicles including DHS EAGLE and SBInet.
Martinez has served as an advisor on the White House Cybser Security plan, the White House National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace since 2003, and has advised on technology issues with members of U.S. Congressional and Senate Committees. Through these programs Martinez works with Congressional leadership and private sector executives to establish secure environ-ments for information and successful implementation of mission critical projects.
He is one of the youngest recipients of the U.S. Medal of Freedom, which is the highest honor awarded by the United States Senate Inner Circle, where he serves as an advisor today. For-mer award winners have included President Ronald Reagan, and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. He’s been a guest speaker throughout the world, including the U.S. Capitol and Peda-gogical University in the Ukraine.
He recently co-founded a consortium dedicated to the protection of national security via the early detection and interdiction of pathogens such as Avian Flu (H5N1)- participants include; ACG, Inc., UT Health Science Center, The University of Texas, U.S. Air Force, and Northrop Grumman.
Martinez also serves on the Forbes Advisory Panel for information technology issues, has been a distinguished guest to the Forbes CEO Forum for four years, and serves on the Technology Advisory Board for the University of Texas in Arlington where he is advancing a $1.3 million research initiative in pervasively secure networks into the private sector.
He was formerly with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), a $10 Billion firm and the lead-ing provider of technology solutions to the U.S. government and to FORBES 100 financial insti-tutions. For over seven years he served as a trusted advisor to C-level executives in Fortune 500 Companies, by providing technology solutions to their businesses.
Martinez began his career with CSC by successfully launching leading-edge, object-oriented, technology into the Americas. During his career Martinez’s responsibilities have included solution development/procurement and over $300 million in contract negotiations with U.S. and in-ternational institutions such as; Citigroup, GE Capital, IBM, Hewlett Packard, and Oracle, and negotiations in multiple countries including China, Japan, England, Ukraine, Costa Rica, Mex-ico, France, Italy, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands.
Before CSC, Martinez was part of the team that launched Rosetta Technologies (1993). After its initial public offering in Canada, he led and transitioned the company from Vancouver, Canada, to Austin, TX. As the Vice President of Marketing, Martinez successfully led two award win-ning products from concept to market - first a new microchip technology which won Product of the Month award in Electronic Products magazine and the second, a Windows based software product that launched in over 200 stores nationwide, and was featured by Windows Magazine as the most innovative toolbar of its time.
Martinez also received national accolades while Director of Systems & Technology for the U.S. Olympic Festival in San Antonio (1990-93). Here, he led the design of an unprecedented Wide Area Network solution which won PC Magazine’s REACH award. After this, he continued his Olympic interests and acted as the Assistant Director of Technology, at Atlanta Olympic Broad-casting, for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. He has written or been featured in national in-dustry publications including; LAN Magazine, PCWeek, Communications Week, InfoWorld, LAN Times and PC Magazine.
He is a founding officer at Highland Community Church in Dallas, and Oak Hills Baptist Church, near San Antonio, where he served as chairman of Trustees for three years.
He is also an advisor to the infrastructure committee of the Floresville Economic Development Corpora-tion, which is dedicated to the creation of new jobs in an ethnic minority community and advanc-ing programs for those who are economically disadvantaged.
Martinez holds a B.B.A. in Accounting and Information Systems. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Science Institute in Newport, Rhode Island (recipient of the Daughters of The American Revolution award for outstanding performance), The University of Texas in San Antonio and is a recipient of the Melvin J.
