Buzz Bites are a brand of caffeinated chocolate candies made by Vroom Foods, Inc. in Costa Mesa California. It is the first chocolate laced with extra caffeine. Buzz Bites an energy blend of Caffeine, B Vitamins, Ginseng and Taurine. This candy is part of a growing "Energy Candy" category. There have been concerns about consumption by children, but according to the company spokesperson, the product is not directed to children.<ref name="houston chronicle article"/> Energy candy manufacturers have to figure out what to do with the caffeine-produced bitter taste, a taste not expected in a candy bar.<ref name="wall street journal article"/>
The company was created by Jason Kensey.<ref name="cnn money article"/> While in business school, Kensey had trouble studying up late at night because stomach disagreed with coffee.<ref name="cnn money article"/> Most of Buzz Bites sales are over the internet and through specialty stores.<ref name="cnn money article"/>
