Burwood Football Club (Burwood F.C.) is a football club based in the inner-western area of Sydney, Australia. Burwood F.C's long-established home ground is Blair Park, but the club has more recently been relocated to Centenary Park. Both grounds have a capacity of approximately 1,000 spectators. History In 1971 members of the Croydon community whose children attended Holy Innocents entered a few teams in the Western Suburbs and District Soccer Football Association competition. They played under the name of their school (Holy Innocents). Brian Thomas was a founding member and had been involved with the club for many years. The club played in the WSADSFC up until 1976 when the association folded. Burwood S.C. also competed in the NSW State Cup, a knock-out style tournament consisting of teams around the state, no matter their performance in their own league; and NSW Champion Of Champions, where teams from NSW who were minor premiers in their club competed. They entered The Kanga Cup tournament where they placed second. Burwood were NSW Champion of Champions for 3 years running, and NSW state Champions. The team entered a tournament in Queensland and brought back the Grand Final Trophy. In 2009 Burwood changed its name to Burwood Football Club. Coined the team name "The Bruss," he played an integral part in leading the team to their semi-final birth. U10/1 Makes the Champion of Champions reaching the Semi finals before bowing out to the eventual Champions. 2007 season After falling short of the title in 2006, the 6AA Strikers sign a number of new ballplayers, including a number of players from Sydney University's train-on squad. 2008 season The 2008 CDSFA Season commenced on the 5th of April. Chairman Andrew Stamar named Raffa Grimaldi manager. 2009 The 13/1 football team has successfully made quarter finals of the Champions Of Champions The 13/1 has only let 1 goal in this season and that was from a debatable penalty The 13/1 has not conceded a goal from open play The 13/1 have the best defensive record in the Canterbury District Soccer Football Association 2010 season The 14/1s made the NSW Champions Of Champions Final but lost 2-1 to a golden goal after leading 1-0 at half time
