Bumpr is a next-generation social networking website that is currently in internal alpha. In addition to standard social network functionality, Bumpr acts as a 'social network hub' allowing users to not only communcate with other users subscribed to its service, but on various other networks from a single website. Users have the ability to add people as friends, send them messages, add them to user-created groups, and notify them of updates in their lives. Pending public launch, Bumpr will allow anyone who declares themselves to be aged 13 or older to become a member of the website. Bumpr was founded by Chris Lausten with his business partner John Gilroy. After approximately a year of whiteboarding and building out their corporate vision, they brought on developer Dan Griffiths. Shortly thereafter, Robert Djubek was added to the development team. Bumpr development is currently rumored to be on schedule for a public beta to be launched early 2011.
