History Founded by two ex Radianz staff, Atrium Network was launched in 2006 and was focused on providing connectivity to the financial community. Initially it started on Internet connected clients using IPsec tunnels. Throughout 2007, Atrium Network continued expanding its connectivity footprint into Europe and began to offer fixed line access. 2008 saw further expansion into Europe and North America for Atrium Network. ‘Exchange Ring’ was launched in March 2009 targeted at latency sensitive clients and in April 2009, Atrium Network announced its first live ‘Exchange Ring’ customer - Activ Financial - consuming NYSE Euronext UTP data. Exchange Ring offers an interconnectivity fabric designed to mitigate the risk of any unnecessary co-location investment and ensuring lowest possible latency access to all available trading venues. This approach to providing single point ultra low latency connectivity is designed to negate any capital expenditure by client firms to collocate with every venue and mitigates the risk of any unnecessary co-location investment in a climate of potential venue consolidation. In August 2010, Atrium Network announced enhanced connectivity between its Toronto and New York POPs at 10Gbps.
