Bryan Kramer (born October 6, 1974 in San Jose, California) is an American published author, social business strategist as well as the co-founder (along with Courtney Smith) and current CEO of PureMatter; a social media consulting company based out of San Jose, California. Early life and Education Bryan Kramer was born in San Jose, California. As a teenager he was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America where he earned his Eagle Scout Medal by the age of 13. He attended Pioneer High School and graduated in 1993. He would go on to attend Northern Arizona University where he earned a BA in Public Relations in 1996 and minor in Japanese. Career Early in his career, Kramer worked as a senior advertising account executive, an interactive strategist, managing consultant, online producer, and consultant for Bay Area’s largest advertising firms and agencies. It was in 2002 that he and Courtney Smith co-founded PureMatter in the city of San Jose, where he gained valuable experience in advertising and public relations with a focus on integrated digital communications and strategic business planning. Under the guidance of Kramer's leadership the agency registered consistent growth, earning running spots as one of the San Jose/Silicon Valley Business Journal’s fastest growing private companies in Silicon Valley and “Top 50 Who’s Who”. Bryan Kramer has also established himself as a leading social media authority with over 250,000 social followers. This has led to him becoming one of the country’s leading authorities on social and digital, speaking all over the country and internationally on a variety of topics. Kramer also hosts the “From the Author’s Point of View” podcast series, as well as “#Substance”; PureMatter’s Luminary Video Series. He is a featured contributor on SocialMediaToday.com, Business2Community and the IBM Smarter Commerce blog. Bryan and his company have received over 100 awards and honors personally and professionally. He has served as Silicon Valley President and as a judge throughout the US for the American Advertising Federation National Student Advertising Competitions and has served on the Advisory Board for Internet Media Labs in New York. In 2013 he was named one of the "The Top 50 Social Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) on Twitter" by the Huffington Post. and one of “The Most Influential Tech People on Twitter” by Business Insider Kramer is also the author of his own book "There is No B2B or B2C: It's Human to Human: #H2H"; a book where he explores the many facets of why and how communication today needs to be adjusted to keep up with our ever-evolving and fast moving social and digital world. His book was published in 2014. In September 2014, Bryan Kramer spoke at TED@IBM; a TED-curated event featuring a diverse group of speakers from across the IBM community. Bryan's presentation focused on the importance of social media and personal branding. Non Profit Through the years, Kramer has committed himself to his community. Bryan received the highest silver medal award for community impact for his work on the executive board as VP of Marketing for the Silicon Valley Boy Scouts of America. He is a past president of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Silicon Valley chapter and former committee member of the Boys and Girls Club of Silicon Valley and Via Rehabilitation Services. Since 2006, Bryan has been an active Silicon Valley Rotarian and currently sits as the VP of Marketing for the Santa Clara County Boy Scouts of America, where he received the highest silver medal award for community impact and volunteerism. Personal Life Bryan lives in San Jose with his wife Courtney and two kids, Emerson and Henry. In his free time, Bryan enjoys photography.
