Brussels Affair is an unofficial live album by the Rolling Stones. The Rolling Stones 1973 European Tour. This live recording made in Brussels on 17 October 1973 was intended for an official release. However, when the Stones left Decca/ABKCO in 1970, they made an agreement not to release any material from their stint with the label for 7 years (the amount of time they had recorded for the company). Therefore, Brussels Affair only appeared on bootlegs (such as Nasty Music and Brussels Affair). The sound quality of this bootlegged album is very good, equal to that of an official release because the dub is taken right off of the sound board. Many Stones fans consider this to be the best live recording The Stones ever made.
Some sources state that the version of "Street Fighting Man" included here was recorded at Wembley Pool, September 9, 1973. "Definitive Edition #1" of this album drops "Heartbreaker," has a slightly different track order ("Happy" and "Gimme Shelter," and "Honky Tonk Women" and "Midnight Rambler," are reversed), and includes an "encore" of "Star Star" as the final track.
