Opened on September 8, 1950, Bruce Field is a football stadium located in the town of Pickens, South Carolina. It is the home of the local football team, the Pickens (High School) Blue Flame, and has a capacity of appr. 6000. The stadium was named after the Bruce family who donated the land to build the field. Future plans for the stadium include renovation to prepare for the stadium being transferred to Pickens' other football team, the Pickens (Middle School) Sparks, while the Blue Flame will be built a brand new stadium. Construction on the new stadium should start in late 2007 and completed in time for the 2010 football season.
