Brooke Davis and Lucas Scott

Brooke Davis and Lucas Scott are a popular couple on the hit show One Tree Hill. Though they are not together at this time, they still maintain a large fanbase and continue to stay good friends. They are played by Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray.

Season 1

Brooke and Lucas first meet in episode 1x02. She shows interest in him (not knowing Lucas has feelings for Peyton Sawyer), however he doesn't show the same feelings back. They are two very different people, her being a popular and party girl, and him being a quiet and not so popular guy. Brooke still shows interest to him and even her best friend Peyton shows slight interest in him too. When Brooke asks about Peyton's feelings, Peyton denies any feelings for Lucas and says Lucas is open to her. After Peyton was roofied at a party Brooke calls Lucas and asks him to help her. Lucas sees a different side to Brooke, a more caring side. They begin to date, despite Lucas' feelings for Peyton and vice-versa.

Brooke starts to feel insecure because of how different her and Lucas are and that she fially cares about someone alot and that scares her. Lucas tells her that he likes that they're diffeent and that he cares for her alot too. When Peyton's father's boat was caught out at sea, a body was found. Scared thinking it was her dad, Lucas comes along to help her id the body. After realizing that her dad was safe, Lucas and Peyton go back to their motel room. Lucas and Peyton start kissing and leading them to the bed however, Lucas' necklace that Brooke had given them, stopped them from going any further. When they get back to Tree Hill, they decide it was a one time thing, both not wanting to hurt Brooke. But still, Lucas and Peyton start seeing eachother behind Brooke's back. When Peyton was about to tell Brooke about her and Lucas' on-going affair, Brooke tells her that she is really truly falling for Lucas. Not wanting to hurt Brooke, she decides to stay quiet.

Lucas ends up getting to an accident, which leads him to be in a coma. Brooke visits him everyday, while Peyton only came about two times, because of her fears about hostpitals. Karen Roe (Lucas' mother), meets Brooke when visiting Lucas and finds that Brooke does care for her son alot and accepts Brooke. When Lucas wakes up, Peyton and him do continue to have an affair behind Brooke's back but he does break-up with Brooke. Brooke is heart broken and doesn't understand why Lucas had broken up with her. Brooke finally finds out about Peyton and Lucas' affair through Peyton's web cam. She swears to Peyton that they are no longer friends and shuts Lucas out of her life, giving both of them a hard time at school. Lucas tries to apologize multiple times but Brooke doesn't have any of it stating that he is like every guy in the world, a liar and a cheater. Brooke and Lucas soon have a pregnancy scare. Lucas tells her that he would be there for her, through the whole thing. When brooke finds out she's not pregnant, she keeps it from Lucas. She finally admits the truth and Lucas is furious with her. When it doesn't work out between Lucas and Peyton (because of Lucas' one night stand with Nikki), Brooke and Peyton tries to mend their friendship. Knowing that Lucas has hurt both Brooke and Peyton, he leaves for Charleston with his uncle Keith.

Season 2

After coming back from his trip from Charleston with Keith, he discovers that Peyton and Brooke are both friends again. He tells them that he wants to be friends with both of them. They both agree it's a good idea. As all of them stay friends Brooke starts a freinds with benefits type relationship with new neighbour Felix Taggaro. Lucas often shows his dislike of the idea. Lucas also starts dating Anna Taggaro, Felix's sister. One night at the Prom, after being betrayed by both Mouth McFadden and Felix, she sits alone at the beach. Lucas comes and tries to comfort her. When he asks if she wanted a ride home, she refuses at first but then accepts. The next morning she tells him that she misses them being friends and that they should start becoming real friends again. They do and when Felix and Broke start dating officially, Lucas often tries to hide his dislike for Felix and the couple from Brooke, but it is very noticable to Anna. When his brother Nathan Scott tells him that he has to tell the girl he has feelings for his true feelings, he goes to Anna and tells her that although she is a great girl, he still has feelings for Brooke. And that he has to tell her tonight. But when he shows up to Brooke's house, he finds Brooke with Felix and turns around deciding not to tell her.

Brooke and Lucas grow closer. He along with Mouth helps her with her Student Body Presedent election. She does go on to win the election. Lucas and Anna remains friends and she often helps him with his feelings for Brooke. When Brooke tells him that her father is getting a job in California, both of them are devestated by the news. Lucas manages to convince his mom to let Brooke stay with her (he was currently living with his father Dan Scott). Karen agrees, and when Brooke and Lucas are on a walk, he tells her that he is going to miss the girl behind the red door. Revealing that he painted his room, a red door. He shows her in and she sees that he has decorated his room just like her room, with all her clothes and pictures there. He tells her that she will be staying there until the summer. She and Lucas are both ecstatic. When Lucas finally comes home to Karen, Karen shows her concern for the new living arrangement with Brooke and Lucas under the same roof. However, Brooke states that they are only friends. Lucas knowing that he still has very strong feelings for her, is hurt by her comment. They do continue to be great friends, while Lucas still harbours feelings for her. They go on a road trip together to New York to visit Haley James Scott. On their way back, she tells him that it's okay for him to have feelings for Peyton. She believes he does due to the fact that she found a box of all of Peyton's things he had kept in his closet. Confused by this, Lucas decides to remain silent about his feelings. When it was time for her to go to California, they hug goodbye. Then he kisses her. Brooke confused, asks him if that was a goodbye kiss. He then finally admits his feelings for her, telling her that he wants to be with her. She questions him about his box about Peyton she had found. He tells her that he kept those thing to remind himself how much he had hurt Brooke and that if he had a second chance he wouldn't let her go again. Not knowing what to say, she says good bye to Lucas, leaving him alone for the summer.

Season 3

After a summer away together, Brooke comes back too Tree Hill only to tell Lucas that they can be a couple but non-exclusively. Lucas agrees but at a summer beach party he tells Brooke "I'm the guy for you Brooke Davis." They continue to be dating non-exclusively until a new girl Rachel Gattina comes along. She shows interest to Lucas much to Brooke's dismay. While he tells Rachel that he's in love with Brooke she still persues him. During a date with Rachel, she asks him why he's in love with Brooke and he says "The heart has reason, that reaosn cannot know.", quoting Pascal. Rachel then says if Brooke is the one then make a basket ball shot, blind folded. He agrees and does make the shot. After Lucas and Rachel's date he decided to go to Brooke only to find that she was in bed with Chris Keller. Lucas is hurt and tells Brooke and makes her feel bad for what she had done. Brooke goes to him and tells him that she was afraid of getting hurt again. She gives him the 82 letters she had written for him during the summer. She proclaims her love for Lucas and Lucas does the same for her. They date happily for a while but they do have some bumps on the way. Brooke stays insecure of their relatonship often thinking about his past relationhip with Peyton Sawyer. Becuase Brooke wrote him those 82 letters, he starts writing his own for her. When he gives her his third letter she gets angry because of what's in it. Written in the letter was: "You are mine forever". While it may have been sweet she had read the exact same line before, written to a letter for Peyton by Lucas. Brooke goes out to the rain and yells at him and Lucas tries to convicne her that she is over reacting. But Brooke still wants to know why he loves her and why he wants to be with her and not Peyton. He responds with this: "Because you kink your eyebrow when you're trying to be cute. Because you quote Camus, even though I've never actually seen you read! And because you miss your parents but you'll never ever admit that. And because I've given exactly two of these embarrassing speeches in my entire life, and they've both been with you. I mean that's gotta mean something, right? And because we're both gonna get pneumonia, but if you need to hear why I love you, I can go on all night." They finally have sex for the first time since they got back together.

Jimmy Edwards a troubled boy who pulls out a gun at school keeps some students hostage. Lucas goes in a tries to help save them with Nathan Scott. While in the school he finds Peyton Sawyer in the library hurt. He stays with her. And thinking she was going to die, kisses Lucas. When Lucas finally manges to get her out, he is met by a crying Brooke. He then comforts her. After the ordeal, Lucas has a hard time because of the death of his uncle Keith Scott. Brooke tries to help him but he constantly shuts her out. Haley convinces Lucas to let Brooke help him. He goes to her and says that he loves her. She responds saying she wants him to save her. He says he will, as long as she saves him too. They stay happy for a while especially at a trip to Rachel's cabin, that is until Peyton tells Brooke that she still has feelings for Lucas. Brooke tells Peyton that she is no longer Peyton's friend. At Nathan and Haley's wedding, Lucas accidently tells Brooke about the kiss in the library between him and Peyton. Brooke is furious and leaves. Lucas follows her. Lucas tells Brooke that it didn't mean anything. Lucas then tells her that he loves her and doesn't now how else to say it. She responds: "How about how you show it? I am not pushing you away, Lucas. I am holding on for dear life, but I need you to need me back. Okay, why wouldn't you tell me about the kiss? And why didn't you call me while you were away? And why won't you ever just let me all the way in?" Later on Brooke asks Lucas for a dance and he agrees. She tells him she missed him, while he was away with his mom and he responds that he missed her too. She tells him that she has alot going on with her and he asks about it, but she doesn't respond but instead gives him a bitter sweet kiss.

Season 4

Season 4 starts off right where season 3 ended. Lucas and Brooke are still in a rough patch in their relationship. Brooke not knowing how to deal with their relationship any longer decides to break-up with Lucas. She tells him she was always love him but she can't continue in their relationship. Not knowing what to say, Lucas just says 'sorry' and watches Brooke walk away. Peyton having feelings for Lucas, asks him who is standing next to him, when all his dreams come true. He says it's Brooke. Peyton says she'll help Brooke and Lucas get back together. When Brooke shows up to the mall (a ritual Brooke and Peyton both had for her birthday since childhood) she sees Lucas there with Peyton, but does nothing and watches on.

Brooke realizes that she misses Lucas, tells him that she wants to go to a school dinner event with him, he agrees. Dring the event they both hear Whitey's Speech about his love for his deceased wife Camilla. At the end of the night they both decide that they should stay friends. After the Raven's win at the Stare Championships, knowing that Peyton has strong feelings for Lucas, she tells Lucas to go to Peyton. He listens and gets back together with Peyton. She goes on to have a relationship with clean teen Chase Adams. By the end of the year they are not together but still remain friends. At Rachel's end of the year party, Lucas catches up with Brooke and she tells him that she's scared of what's a head. He tells her she'll do great and shows her an excerpt about her in his book. It reads: "She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, beautiful and brave. In two years, she has grown more than anyone I have ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world one day, and I'm not sure she even knows it."

Season 5

Starts off 4 years after their high school graduation. Brooke is a famous fashion designer in New York with her clothing line Hoes Over Bros and Lucas is a published author engaged to his editor girlfriend Lindsay Strauss. Brooke comes home to Tree Hill after a call from Peyton. On her first day back, she goes and visits Lucas. She jumps on whom she believed was him but only to find out it was his girlfriend Lindsay. When he walks in on them, he makes a joke but then says he missed her and she replies stating that she missed him too. They remain great friends, and often talk. In a flashback, when Lucas found out he was getting his book pusblished, he is in New York for a party. He calls Brooke and they deicde to go out and celebrate. He tells Brooke that he had proposed to Peyton but she turned him down. He shows her the engagement ring but then everyone at the resturant thought that they were engaged. Both decided to play along. They get on a carriage ride, and start chatting with the driver. They talk about having kids, and her baking goods for their children and him coaching them in soccer. The carriage ride driver tells them that love is all that matters. Both drunk, Brooke gets Lucas home. When she starts undressing him to get him into his pajamas, he kisses her. She stops the kiss and tells him that he is just hurt about Peyton. She says goodbye and leaves him. Brooke tells her mom that Lucas Scott was the one boy she would have lost everything for to be with him, and that she almost did.

Eventually Brooke starts a relationship with a bartender named Owen. At Lindsay's and Lucas wedding, while watching them say their vows, Brooke has a flashback. Brooke tells Lucas that she wants to have a baby, and that is why she had come back to Tree Hill. And she wants him to be the sperm donor. He asks if she was sure and she tells him she is, and that her heart is sure.

Trivia

Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray who plays Brooke and Lucas, started dating around the first season of One Tree Hill. Two years after, they wed on April 16, 2005. But five months after they married Sphia filed for divorce, due to Chad's rumoured infedility.

Brooke's nickname for Lucas is Broody and Boyfriend.

Lucas' nickname for Brooke is Cheery and Pretty Girl.

The two embarrassing moments Lucas refers to in his quote in 3x13 to Brooke is his speech to Brooke and how he is the guy for her in 3x02 and the speech he was giving her in that exact moment.

Their couple name that fans have dubbed them is 'Brucas'. The 'Br' is from Brooke and the 'ucas' is from Lucas.

Both fans of Brooke and Lucas and Lucas and Peyton are very passionate of their couple. Both camps often have 'shipper wars'. The fans of the show remain divided, one side for Brooke and Lucas and the other side for Lucas and Peyton. Mark Schwahn (creator of One Tree Hill) has said in an interview that he doesn't know whether Brooke and Lucas will end up together or Lucas and Peyton.

Brooke and Lucas fans have dubbed Lucas and Peyton 'Pucas', instead of calling them by their ship name 'Leyton'.

Brooke and Lucas have gotten together twice and have broken up twice. First time - Started: 1x10 - You Gotta Go There To Come Back, Ended: 1x15 - Suddenly Everything Has Changed. Second Time - Started (officially): 3x09 - How A Resurrection Really Feels, Ended: 4x01 - The Same Deep Water As You.

Lucas has stated to Peyton that when all his dreams come true it is Brooke that is standing next to him, however he contradicts himself, stating the exact same thing to Peyton when they get together.

Lucas had many of his 'firsts' with Brooke. Brooke was the fist person he had sex with and Brooke was his first love.

Fans often refer to the song: For Blue Skies by Strays Don't Sleep as 'Brooke and Lucas' song' due to the fact that the song was playing when Brooke and Lucas get back together in episode 3x09.
