Betty Suarez and Gio Rossi

Betty Suarez and Gio Rossi were a former couple in the hit American Televison show Ugly Betty.
Betty Suarez is played by the actress America Ferrera, while Gio Rossi is portrayed by Freddy Rodriguez.
Although never offically a couple, the two have a cult following known as "Gettys". And have numerous fansites, and many fan-made-videos on You Tube.
Background
Betty Suarez had been a character during the show's first season (as the show is about her). During that season she had fallen for Henry, who, like her, was a shy person. However, tension between the two occurred when his ex-girlfriend came back into the scene, heavily pregnant with his baby.
During Season Two, she became friends with Gio Rossi, a local sandwich guy. It was a love/hate friendship, but early on it was clear that Gio had feelings for Betty. Unfortunately, he couldn't do anything as she was still with Henry. He would always tease her by calling Henry nicknames. The friendship became more serious when Henry and Betty split up. The two started dating, however, this was cut short when Betty split up with Gio. Gio was hurt and upset by this, and couldn't forgive Betty, who, he says, "broke his heart". Nevertheless, the two remain friends.
Cultural impact
Many fans consider Gio to be one of Betty's better boyfriends, unlike Matt and Jesse. There have also been many petitions for the two to be together. However, Freddy Rodriguez is not listed as a character at all for Season Four of Ugly Betty.
