Brokenkites

Brokenkites, created in 2006, is the stage name of James B. Willard, an American musician, author, and director based in Decatur, Georgia, United States.
Brokenkites composes mainly thematic, downtempo electronic music. Brokenkites has also released several albums with narratives, such as Across Impossibilities (Matthew Kendrick), Towards Halcyon (Chip Wood), Pale Horses (Melissa McBride), and Still and Silent Sleep (Melissa McBride). He released an album, Apophenia, that featured live instrument renditions of his tracks performed by artists around the country and mixed by himself. There is an online video game featuring his music called Blueshift. Drawing his inspiration from sci-fi, Willard frequently has theme-based albums, often meant to be used as soundtracks for his short stories. Most notably, he did this with 2008's album, Fugue State, which went along with a short story of the same title.
His music has been featured as soundtracks for films, primarily for documentaries, such as Canning Paradise, Voluntad Y Paz, and Cargoville: Thinking Inside the Box.
