British Balls Magazine (BBM) is an Australian free weekly magazine for backpackers, travellers and working holiday makers. BBM was first published in May 2000, and started life printed on a single A4 sheet of paper pinned up in Sydney's hostels with the football results from the UK. Over the next few years the magazine evolved and news, sport, travel and recruitment sections were added. The magazine is distributed free nationally across Australia in all the major cities and backpacker spots via hostels, travel agents, pubs, internet cafes, recruitment companies and various other outlets. The magazine's unique tongue-in-cheek style has enabled it to build a cult following, with a weekly readership estimated around 50,000. The website was launched in December 2008 and features every article from the magazine, uploaded each week. |
