Brian Oake

Brian Oake is a radio broadcast personality in the Minneapolis, Minnesota radio market. Until August 2, 2019, Oake was a co-host of the KCMP-FM (89.3 FM) program Oake and Riley in the Morning. Previous to his role at the Current 89.3, Oake co-hosted on the KTCZ-FM (97.1 FM) morning show along with Keri Noble, and hosted a special weekend program on Cities 97 called Freedom Rock.
Oake's credits include work on previous Twin Cities radio formats, Rev105 and Zone105. In 1998, City Pages listed Oake as the "Best FM Radio Personality" for his work on Zone 105. He also performed as a breakdancer in the 1980s under the street name, "Trick."
Oake was an occasional guest on local sports-talk station FM 100.3 KFAN to talk about music, as both KTCZ and KFAN are owned by Clear Channel Communications.
On December 18, 2015, Oake announced that he would be leaving 97.1 FM.
On January 6, 2016, Minnesota Public Radio's music service, 89.3 The Current, announced that Brian Oake would be taking over the morning drive show effective March 7, 2016. In the interim he would be hosting on Friday afternoons from 2-6pm effective immediately.
On August 16, 2019, Minnesota Public Radio announced that Brian Oake was no longer employed by The Current. No reason for the termination was given. On August 19, 2019, the City Pages reported that a petition had been started to get Brian Oake re-hired by The Current.
On September 16, 2019, Brian Oake debuted new persona "Fresh Charlie" on KFAN-FM program The Common Man Progrum.
On November 12, 2019, Brian Oake published his inaugural podcast of The Brian Oake Show on Spotify.
