Brian Hurley, M.D., M.B.A. was elected in 2008 at the 58th AMSA Annual Convention, as National President of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA). Dr. Hurley is a recent graduate of the Keck School of Medicine and Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. In years prior, he served as AMSA's National Vice President, Director of Student Programming, and National Coordinator in AMSA's Advocacy Action Committee. Before entering medical school he studied biochemistry, neuroscience, and political theory as an undergraduate at the University of California in Los Angeles. A lifelong advocate, Dr. Hurley is passionate about establishing affordable access to quality healthcare, advancing the health of communities impacted by social stigma, promoting global heath equity, and protecting the integrity of the medical profession.
