Brian Barney (born December 15, 1971) is an American director and actor. Born in Nashua, New Hampshire, Barney trained at the University of California, Riverside's Department of Theatre, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1995. After working as a production assistant on the science fiction TV series Babylon 5 in Los Angeles, Barney moved to Reno and began acting in many plays, including The Mousetrap, Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa, Popcorn, George F. Walker's Criminals in Love, Titus Andronicus, Amadeus, Deathtrap, and the Pirandello play Six Characters in Search of an Author. Barney's directing credits include Steve Martin's The Underpants and Martin McDonagh's The Pillowman. He also directed the 2009 French short film Terrain Razzari.
