Brandon Melendez (born March 24, 1983) is an American Mixed Martial Artist. Melendez was a castmember on The Ultimate Fighter 5. Mixed Martial Arts Career The Ultimate Fighter Melendez was picked fourth for Team Pulver. On episode 4 of The Ultimate Fighter Melendez called out and fought Andy Wang. He won via a dominant unanimous decision. After having some trouble making weight for his quarter final match with Gray Maynard he made weight and was submitted in the second round via guillotine choke. Ultimate Fighting Championship Melendez fought Joe Lauzon in the last preliminary fight on The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale. He was defeated via triangle choke submission at 2:09 of the second round. Independent Melendez has since moved up to welterweight and has fought in several small promontions. |
