Bob Hillary

Bob Hillary was founder member and frontman, lead singer and songwriter of The Ruffness, a Trip-hop/Dub/Reggae band that were signed to Soundethic Records and released 3 EPs and one full Album over the course of their seven-year existence from 2001-2007. Hillary went solo after The Ruffness disbanded in 2007.
Hillary attempted to become a Rudolph Steiner School teacher but after two years returned to professional musical, forming the band Bob Hillary and The Massive Mellow, with saxophone player Hornman Carl Davies, vintage organs by Jack Nissan and Paul Winter-Hart of Kula Shaker on drums.
Their debut album Nature's Pace was released in 2010 by Sonic 360 Records. The album was recorded in an analogue studio in the valleys of Fife, Scotland. The album was produced by Bob Hillary and Robin Wynn-Evans, who has produced The View, The Ruffness, Dodgy and the Manic Street Preachers. His ex-wife Sam Brown, solo artist and backing singer for Pink Floyd and Jools Holland sang harmonies on the album.
The Singles You Keep Me Warm, Take it Slow and Hear Mi were all played on BBC Radio 1 on the Vic Galloway Show.
A second fan-funded album is due for release Summer 2011.
