History
Early years and formation (2003-2007)
The members of Bliz doesn’t know each other when they first started as a band. Jakalll, who is also the cartoonist of a famous comic magazine in Malaysia called “Ujang”, has played in a couple of band before he decided to take music a step further by playing his own song rather than playing cover songs.
This is where he met Mohaid, a college student who has spent his whole life making music without having a band. He used to have a band named UNO and Cloud Havien but the band split up due to commitment issue. Jakalll then suggest Mohaid to form a band as he could play bass and Mohaid as the lead singer and guitar. With a lot of songs composed by Mohaid, they decided to search for a drummer as they couldn’t play live without a one.
Opie, an ex-drummer for the band Mist was introduced to Mohaid through Api, who is also a best friend to Opie. Opie accepted the invitation to play in the band with Mohaid and Jakalll as their drummer as the trio had one thing in common; the same interest in the band Muse. They decided to call themselves as Bliz taken their name from one of Muse’s songs called “Bliss”.
First EPs (2010)
After a few years playing in a lot of event and building a fan base, Bliz decided to record a proper EP track to cater the massive fan request to have their song on a cd. The band decided to record their debut EP at Kamar Seni Studio, own by the renowned guitarist of the band Hujan.
The EP consist of 5 studio recording version and 5 demo version of the songs. This is due to some of the fans loved the demo version than the studio version but to be airplay in most radio station, they need the proper recording of the songs. The band named their debut EP after their hits single "Mimpi yang mati".
