Bleeckie

Bleeckie, or Bleeckie Streetie, is a 5-year-old American muppet who first gained popularity on YouTube in July 2010 after making videos of herself interacting with people she met on Chatroulette. In the videos, the colorful and hyper puppet performed songs and asked users to go on "playdates" with her. Her naivete and enthusiasm made her video an instant hit.
Bleeckie is played by puppeteer Leslie Madeline Fleming, a former Sesame Street employee with a Master's in Children's Media from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. Although Leslie designed her own puppets in the past, she had the chance to create her own at FAO Schwarz Muppet Whatnot Workshop in May 2010. She named her puppet Bleeckie Streetie after her first apartment in New York, which was on the famous Bleecker Street. . Bleeckie is signed by Abby Cadabby puppeteer Leslie Cararra-Rudolph.
Having a very hyper-active personality and a knack for getting a story out of anyone , Ms. Fleming has said that Bleeckie would talk to an inanimate object if it had a story to tell. Since the rise of her YouTube fame, Bleeckie performs around her new home of Dallas, Texas in an effort to show that learning and individuality is the way to go, since Bleeckie not only has a love for learning, but a love for being herself. She has performed at the State Fair of Texas, where she got to teach about the history of the State Fair of Texas and interview Big Tex. .
