Blanche Gaston

Blanche P. Gaston (Born Blanche Mahalia Pulliam, January 25, 1936, Chicago, Illinois- November 17, 2012, Chicago) was an American writer of a self-help book.
She was the sixth child of seven children born to Edward Pulliam and Blanche Mahalia Roberts-Pulliam. She graduated from DuSable High School in Chicago, Illinois and went on to attend the University of Chicago where she received her M.A.in Administration. She attended Chicago Teachers College where she graduated at age 19 with honors and was the recipient of the Edward C. Calvin award in science. She began a career in education and then psychology.
In January of 1961 she married Gordon Ray Gaston and together they had three children .
In 1979 Gaston wrote, I Like Me. I Like Me dealt with positive self concepts and self esteem in children. Gaston went on to lecture about the principles of the book throughout the country.
