Blake Northcott

Blake Northcott (born February 10) is a Canadian writer, and blogger. She writes comic book and movie reviews for CBS's Man Cave Daily, and has written two books, Vs. Reality, and Relapse (Vs. Reality Volume 2). Blake was born in Bramalea, Ontario, a small town outside of Toronto. Her mother is Canadian, and her father is Slovakian. She has one younger sister, who is an American citizen, currently living in Houston, Texas.
Blake lived in Japan for six months when she was 12, where she attended school. She moved back to Ontario to finish high school, and attended McMaster University, graduating with a degree in English.
Blake is best known for her debut novel ‘Vs. Reality’ - a science fiction novel about superhumans who are addicted to a drug which enhances their abilities. Vs. Reality was written in 2009 as a script for a four-issue comic book series. After a year-long delay the funding fell through, and she decided to convert her script into a full-length book, self publishing for the Amazon Kindle and other digital readers in July of 2011.
By October of 2011 Vs. Reality had reached #1 on Amazon U.K. in two different categories (‘Science Fiction’, and ‘Superheroes’), and reached #1 in the same categories in April 2012, once again on Amazon U.K., and on Amazon France. On July 28, 2012 Vs. Reality was the most downloaded free Amazon Kindle book in the Science Fiction category.
Relapse (Vs. Reality Volume 2) was released in Early June, and debuted as the #1 Hot Release on Amazon US, and hit the top of the charts in the US, France and the UK.
In December of 2012 she announced a new novel called Arena Mode, which will be released in Q2 of 2013.
She currently lives on the west end of the Greater Toronto Area.
