Blaine Bablitz

Blaine Bablitz (born October 14, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He most recently was the head coach and general manager for the Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL).
Bablitz played two seasons of junior hockey (1997 - 1999) with the Grande Prairie Storm of the AJHL, and was named the 1997-98 AJHL Rookie of the Year. Bablitz then attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he played four seasons ( - ) of NCAA hockey with the , scoring 32 goals and 52 assists for 84, while earning 28 penalty minutes, in 140 games played.
Bablitz began his professional career in the ECHL, where he suited up during the 2003-04 ECHL season with both the Las Vegas Wranglers and Toledo Storm. He played the next two seasons in Germany before returning to North America to play the 2006-07 season with the Odessa Jackalopes of the Central Hockey League.
In 2007, Bablitz was hired as the assistant coach with the Grande Prairie Storm of the AJHL, but he continued to play senior hockey which allowed him to win the 2010 Allan Cup as a member of the Fort St. John Flyers. In 2011 he was promoted to be the Storm's head coach and general manager, a position he held until September 2013.
