Black Boys Code is a non-profit organization that aims to empower young men of color by providing them the opportunity to learn about computer science and other STEM disciplines. Founder The founder of the company is Bryan R. Johnson, whose inspiration came from many years of being the only person of color in corporate boardrooms, in the various organizations that he has worked at over the past twenty years, and sought to fill that gap. Black Boys Code is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. Given the proper resources, and by engaging with the community through workshops and after-school programs, Black Boys Code relies on donations to keep its programs running. Their long-term goal is to increase the number of boys of color, who excel in technological professions, and establish themselves as industry leaders, to give back to their own communities. They were recently featured on Topanoris Studios, which showcased one of their workshops. |
