The company was founded as Business Filings Incorporated in 1996 by Brian Wiegand and partner, Rick Oster. Content includes an advice column called “Ask Alice” which directly answers questions from small business owners. BizFilings is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin. History Business Filings Incorporated was the first company founded in 1996 by Brian Wiegand, a Wisconsin native and entrepreneur. In 2002, Wiegand and co-Founder, Rick Oster sold Business Filings Incorporated to Wolters Kluwer, a global information company which provides content, software and publishing for legal and accounting professionals globally. In 2006, Business Filings Incorporated began doing business as BizFilings. In 2006, BizFilings absorbed the Business Owner’s Toolkit from Wolters Kluwer sister company, CCH Incorporated. Toolkit.com is a content-based web site providing free finance, accounting, and marketing content and templates to small business owners. It also produces Ask Alice!, a column that reports on industry trends and provides advice. The company also broadcasts a weekly Business Owner’s Toolkit radio show in more than 80 U.S. markets. BizFilings serves as the corporate formation provider and registered agent for notable companies such as Facebook and Birkenstock, entertainment and sports entrepreneurs including Willem DaFoe, Dick Vermeil, former coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, and Super Bowl MVP, Ray Lewis.
