BioRig

The BioRig is a rowing Sport rowing shell created in 1998 to maximize boat speed for unchanged power output. It achieves this aim by angling the slides and minimizing the catch angle of the rowers.¹ The BioRig has been victoriously rowed at the Royal Canadian Henley, the Head of the Ohio, and the Canadian Games among others and was ruled illegal for international competition by FISA in 2000 .
The BioRig was designed in a partnership between Jakob Kaschper (hydrodynamic design ) and Christoph Lueneburger, PE (biomechanic design ).
