Biod is a Dutch brand of caravans and trailer tents. Since 1960 Biod caravans are built with a fiberglass-polyester hull construction in one piece. Caravans with such a structure tend to have strong roundings at all edges and corners. Other manufacturers with a similar hull construction are MKP (produced from 1961 to 1988 in Denmark) and Lander (produced from 1973 to 1984 in Italy). Innovation A polyester Biod caravan without a metal chassis is in development. Use The relatively small width of many models, the rounded shape and the resulting favorable aerodynamics contribute to the fact that Biods are often in use as a travel caravan. Position in the caravan market The brand operates in a high market segment. Because of the low production numbers and the unique construction and design a Biod is considered as a "Cult Caravan". Biod caravans are popular restauration objects in the Netherlands. |
