<b>William Galbraith</b> (January 25, 1924 — February 27, 2021) was an American soldier known for his involvement in both the Invasion of Normandy and Operation Market Garden during World War II. He was born in Pasadena, California in January 1924. He joined the United States Army on September 9, 1942 in Long Beach, California. He was a member of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, and present at the Normandy invasion and Operation Market Garden. During the latter event, he was wounded but survived. Galbraith died in February 2021 at the age of 97.
