Big Bash League trophy

The Big Bash League trophy is a trophy which will be awarded to the winner of the newly formed Big Bash League which is hitting Australia this December. The final design of the trophy is still not decided by Cricket Australia; however 3 trophies are in the race to become the "BBL trophy".
The KFC T20 Big Bash League trophy design competition was open to designers from across Australia - their challenge was to design an end of season innovative, fresh and creative trophy or sculpture. Out of the designs which were up for voting, 3 designs were selected by the people: Brilliant Cup, Champions Disc and Downtown Core. The successful trophy will be revealed just prior to the season commencing on December 16.
Trophy design nominations
Ten trophy designs were selected for the voting out of which one design would be selected for the tournament. These are the designs which were selected for the final voting.
*360 Degrees: This trophy reflects the 360 degree batting options that are presented to the batsman for every ball delivered.
*Brilliant Cup: Representing the contemporary architectural elements of T20 stadia, four gold supports enclose banks of brilliant lights holding up a large silver cup with high intensity lighting.
*Champions Disc: The Champions Disc concept embodies and represents the very essence of the KFC T20 Big Bash League competition which appeals to youths and their families, much like the league itself.
*Danger Zone: The explosive aesthetic of this trophy represents the essence of T20 with dynamic lines, bold forms and contrasting materials.
*Downtown Core: The design of this trophy represents the urban edge of the Big Bash League together with strong visual imagery.
*Sudden Shield: The translucent acrylic of the ‘wings’ portrays the ‘swish’ of the bat through the air in a big bash, while the stainless steel represents the bat.
*The Arena: In the same way ancient gladiators too up arms in the colosseum - this trophy is based on the abstract shape of the modern Big Bash League ground.
*Tribal Shield: The translucent acrylic of the ‘wings’ portrays the ‘swish’ of the bat through the air in a big bash, while the stainless steel represents the bat. The surrounding shield represents the batsman strength and provides ‘handles’ for the trophy.
*Urban Warfare: This trophy reflects a hypothetical game of T20 being played in the streets of a high density city, with balls bouncing off the walls and smashing windows.
*XI Golden Bats: Cast in bronze, eleven bats form the powerful arc that represent a batsman connecting with the big one hit out of the ground.
Results
After the closing date, the 3 trophies were selected during the voting period out of which the successful trophy will be revealed just prior to the season commencing on December 16. The three successful trophies were Brilliant Cup, Champions Disc and Downtown Core.
