Bettina Walter (born 13 February 1971 in Buchholz in der Nordheide) is a German film producer and Managing Director of the film production company BWP in Barcelona. Life Bettina Walter studied Ethnology, Romance Studies, and Latin American Studies in Hamburg, Buenos Aires, and Málaga. As a producer, she specializes in the development and financing of documentary films for the international market. Bettina Walter has specialized on the Latin American documentary film market. As head of studies, she developed "Campus Latino", a documentary training program for filmmakers from Latin America, Italy, and Spain, hosted by Documentary Campus with support from the Goethe Institute. It is a joint venture between several renowned and well-established organizations based in Europe, with local partners in ChileDocs, Bravi and Apex from Brazil, DOCSMX from Mexico and IFF Panama; with funding from Ibermedia. The objective is to support filmmakers in developing their projects creatively, at the same time as sourcing production and financing partners, and exploring innovative distribution strategies in the international marketplace. She acts as an advisor to several film festival juries and film funds. In additional, Bettina Walter is a moderator and panelist and was the Session Producer for Sheffield Doc/Fest from 2013 to 2016. Since 2000, Bettina Walter has further been a consultant tutor to a number of different universities and films schools: the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona, the University of Barcelona, Universidad Internacional de Cataluña, Escola de Cinema de Barcelona, and the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg for Project Development, International Financing and Co-Production.
