Career
Head writer and co-director of a small comedy troupe in Dallas, was approached to join staff of radio station KAFM in mid-1980s. Known to listeners simply as "McGregor", hosted the overnight radio program on sister station KAAM for two years. An irreverent "everyman" style, McGregor frequently criticized and parodied advertisers and commercialism, often lampooning his own station's promotions and contests. He garnered a sizable following of "night owl" listeners while writing and producing station promos and material for other station personalities. Later, produced and co-wrote morning drive program with Andy Barber. McGregor partnered with fellow personality Stubie Doak, collaborating on a number of projects and parodies - some controversial - which aired during the mid-1980s.

McGregor left radio in 1987 (rumored to have been asked to leave after a controversial live segment) to work in print news as a reporter and political writer; was later promoted to editor. McGregor transitioned to science and tech editor circa 1991, and contributes satirical pieces and an occasional script for radio and various other sources. He joined KHFI-FM in Austin, Texas in the early 1990s and served as morning news writer/anchor following the departure of Bob Wilson. McGregor currently writes for a national wire service and occasionally contributes material for radio. He lives in Texas.
